Directions for Preparation and Use:
USE ONLY MEDICAL SUPERVISION
Your baby's health depends on carefully following the preparation, use, and storage instructions.
Failure to follow these instructions could result in severe harm. Proper hygiene is important
when preparing infant formula.
Ask your baby's healthcare team if you need to use cooled, boiled water for mixing and if you need
to boil (sterilize) bottles, nipples, and rings before use.
1. Wash hands thoroughly and clean the preparation area.
2. To make the standard dilution (20calories/fl oz), and 1 unpacked, level scoop (4.8 g) of powder
to each 1 fl oz of water.
3. Cap bottle; shake well untill powder dissolves. Freshly prepared formula is best. Once feeding
begins, use within 1 hour or discard. Only if necessary, refrigerate freshly prepared formula
between 35-40°F (2-4°C) and use within 24 hours.

When mixed at the standard dilution (20 cal/fl oz), one can of Pepticate makes approximately 86 fl oz.
Do not boil or do not use a microwave oven to warm formula; serious burns may result.
Pepticate is suitable as a sole source of nutrition for infants under 1 year of age.
Suggested intake will vary depending on the age, body weight, and medical condition of the infant.
Storage:
Store unopened or opened can in a cool, dry place. Once opened, replace can lid and use within 1
month. Do not store at extreme temperatures.
What is an extensively hydrolyzed formula (eHF)? What makes Pepticate hypoallergenic?
An eHF is a formula where the proteins in cow milk have been hydrolyzed. Extensively hydrolyzed proteins mean that the protein in the
formula has been broken down to only consist of very small peptides and free amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein.
The proteins are carefully produced this way so that the formula will be tolerated by infants with allergy to cow milk. In the United
States, all formulas that are labeled as being "hypoallergenic" must also demonstrate tolerability by infants with allergy to
cow's milk in a clinical study based on criteria established by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Pepticate infant formula has
been clinically demonstrated to be hypoallergenic by this standard. Extensively hydrolyzed protein-based formulas are different than
formulas described as partially hydrolyzed. The proteins in partially hydrolyzed formulas are not broken down to the extent of the
proteins in eHFs and may not be appropriate for infants with a food allergy who require a hypoallergenic
formula.
Why does Pepticate contain lactose?
Lactose is a major source of carbohydrates naturally found in human milk. In Pepticate, lactose also serves as a source of carbohydrates
and helps make the formula taste good. Pepticate is well tolerated in infants with cow milk allergy.
How long can I keep prepared Pepticate?
Freshly prepared formula is best. Once feeding begins, use within one hour or discard. Only if necessary, refrigerate freshly prepared
formula between 35-40ºF (2-4ºC) and use within 24 hours.
Can I warm Pepticate that has been refrigerated?
If you choose to warm Pepticate, do not boil or do not use a microwave as serious burns may result. Instead, gently warm the cold
formula using a bottle warmer, a warm water bath, or by holding the bottle under warm, running water.
What is the shelf life of Pepticate? How long can I use Pepticate after the can is opened?
Unopened and opened cans of Pepticate should be stored in a cool, dry place and used by the use by date, which is located on the bottom
of each can. Once a can is opened, it should be used within 1 month.
How do I transition my child to Pepticate?
For most infants, changing from one formula to another is simple and doesn't require a "transition period." However,
for some infants a change in taste – such as a move from another formula to Pepticate - can present a challenge. Contact
your child's healthcare team to discuss this transition. You may also call 1-800-365-7354, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am -5:00 pm,
