A Message from Nutricia North America on Unprecedented Neocate Demand

Hello Adrienne, Since the Abbott Nutrition recall in February, we have experienced a huge surge in demand for our amino acid-based Neocate® formulas. To give you an idea of the degree of the surge, our demand has increased approximately three-fold. Amino acid-based formulas are for medical use and require specialized ingredients and extensive quality and food safety procedures to make; because of this, it takes time to safely ramp up production. While we have now been able to greatly increase Neocate production, unfortunately, product availability continues to be limited as we work to re-supply throughout the United States, with demand outpacing supply. We are happy to share that we are on track to have the additional 500,000 cans of Neocate® Infant DHA/ARA and Neocate® Junior Unflavored available for US families in July. In the coming weeks, we will have an ample supply of Neocate Infant DHA/ARA and Neocate Junior Unflavored to meet demand. I just call all the pharmacy and they can't get neocate amino acid base dha/ara in. Why... They said the distribution has 0.. my daughter needs this formula.. the other formula makes her really sick... Other formula makes her poop blood.. I need some answers thanks
