The start of the year is always a good time for reflection. It would be an understatement to say that 2022 was a challenging year for families who depend on amino acid-based formulas. Since the Abbott Nutrition recall of their amino acid-based formula, Elecare®, was announced in February of 2022 and the subsequent shortages of other brands of amino acid-based formulas, it was a whirlwind for parents and healthcare providers searching for suitable formula for their children and patients. We want to thank you for your support and patience as we worked to increase production of Neocate to help meet the sudden increased demand.
We continue to produce and ship ALL Neocate products, but supply of certain flavor varieties continues to be limited due to the ongoing increased demand for amino acid-based formulas.
