Can my patient transition from Neocate Junior with Prebiotics, unflavored to Neocate Syneo Junior without a transition period?
Neocate Syneo Junior is an unflavored, powdered, nutritionally complete hypoallergenic formula. Most children will be able to transition from Neocate Junior with Prebiotics, unflavored to Neocate Syneo Junior without a transition period and without any issues. If your patient requires a slower transition, we recommend the fading approach. Fading is a strategy where a small amount of a new formula is mixed with something the child is used to (such as expressed human milk, another formula, or another beverage), gradually increasing the ratio of new to old over time. We provide more information regarding formula transition in our transition guide—“A Guide to Transitioning.”
Please note that unlike Neocate Junior with Prebiotics, unflavored, Neocate Syneo Junior is not indicated for the management of malabsorption and is not recommended for use in children with short bowel syndrome (SBS) unless a risk and benefit analysis is completed by a healthcare professional, and the patient is monitored.
