A slightly sweet dipping sauce that is great for an elemental diet. This allergen-free sweet dipping sauce recipe was developed by Carina Venter, B.Sc. Dietetics, Post Grad Dip in Allergy, PhD, RD and used with permission.
Carina is an Allergy Specialist dietitian dealing with children and adults diagnosed with food allergies, ranging from Food Protein-induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES), Eosinophilic Gastro-intestinal diseases (EGIDs), other non-IgE-mediated food allergies and IgE-mediated food allergies. She was inspired to create dipping recipes that could be suitable for her eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) patients who follow elemental diets. To learn more about Carina’s practice, please visit https://carinaventeronline.com.
For those on elemental diet for EoE, Carina suggests to use this sweet sauce for dipping carrots and “allowed” fruit like apples and pears once these are re-introduced. As always, check with your doctor before trying the recipe and make sure that you/your child drink sufficient fluid.
